About Us

T
he Bristol Practice does away with the frustrations of NHS waiting times and the impersonal, screen-based model of many private health care providers.
Instead, the emphasis is on a regular, face-to-face doctor-patient relationship.
The Bristol Practice programme embraces continuity of care, along with a more holistic approach to health, wellbeing and lifestyle. And while treating ill patients is a given, the preventative side of things is dialled up, by building in time to consider potential root causes such as sleep, nutrition and work-life balance.
In some ways, the Bristol Practice harks back to the days of the village doctor doing the rounds with his bulging Gladstone bag. Except it’s bang up to date with medical advances and best-practices. Knowing your patients’ history, family and circumstances is a huge help in diagnosis and treatment. Consulting in their home environment is beneficial too, saving time and stress and fostering a more balanced, equal relationship.
Meet the Team
Charlie worked in the NHS before moving to Australia, where he found his feet in a busy A&E department on the East Coast. Returning to the UK, he trained as a GP, while researching medical humanities and their positive effects on his colleagues’ wellbeing.
Charlie studied Medicine at Manchester University and is currently working towards a formal qualification in Lifestyle Medicine, investigating how the way we live affects our health and wellness
When the working day’s over, he enjoys playing football in the Bristol Downs Association Football League, a 120-year-old amateur, grassroots league, tuning into Bristol’s lively music scene and rolling board-game dice.
Henry has worked extensively as a GP in the UK and New Zealand. He’s coached and mentored fellow GPs, helping them cope with stress and burnout, and tutored doctors taking their Royal College membership exams. Henry’s career focus is simple: working as part of a team of fellow professionals to support his patients every step of the way in their health journey.
Henry graduated in Medicine from Southampton University and has further qualifications in dermatology from Cardiff University. He’s also a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council.
Outside of work, Henry brews craft beer, bakes sourdough bread, and makes curious ceramics.
Emma worked in hospital medicine, gaining broad clinical experience and developing a strong foundation in acute and complex care. Drawing on this depth of knowledge, she transitioned to General Practice where she brings her collated experience to bear in delivering holistic, patient-centred care. Her approach is shaped by a commitment to continuity, clinical excellence and understanding each patient’s unique story.
Emma studied Medicine at the University of Leeds and completed a BSc in Neuroscience and Mental Health at Imperial College London. She holds membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and currently works as an NHS salaried GP, as well as providing care in out-of-hours services.
Outside of work, Emma enjoys running, tending to her garden and throwing pots on the pottery wheel.
